The Department of Accounting in the University of Dhaka is a center of excellence for accounting, auditing and taxation education in Bangladesh. The graduates of this department are playing pivotal role in corporate, businesses and the accounting profession both at home and abroad. This department is endowed with a pool of world class faculty members having Ph.D.s and/or professional degrees.
PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
The Academic Rules for the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) program are designed to guide students through the requirements and expectations necessary for successful completion of the degree. These rules cover course progression, assessment standards, and graduation requirements. These ensure that students maintain academic integrity, meet professional standards, and achieve the program’s learning outcomes. All students are expected to familiarize themselves with these rules to support their academic and professional development.

CURRICULUM
The MPA program consists of four foundation courses, eight core courses, four elective courses and one project paper. Students must complete a total of sixteen courses and one project paper for graduation. Therefore, the MPA is a 51 credit hour (16 courses x 3 credit hours for each course + 3 credit hours project paper) graduate program. Students must take a maximum of 4 courses to minimum 2 courses per semester.

ADMISSION
Admission Requirements
- A bachelor degree in any discipline with a minimum 2nd class/division or CGPA 2.5 (out of 4) in all public examinations with minimum one year work experience.
- Work experience is exempted for enrolled students of ICAB, ICMAB, ICSB, ACCA, CFA and professional bodies.
- Members from ICAB, ICMAB, ICSB, ACCA, CFA & professional bodies are exempted from written test, however, they must face the viva voce.
